An environment where students learn to learn, reason critically, think creatively,
and develop the capacity to produce innovative solutions to modern challenges.
A well-rounded education that fulfils the needs of the whole child, developing the attitude,
knowledge, understanding and skills for each student to become
mindful and ethical global citizens.
A progressive education is designed to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of all students. At NYA, we pride ourselves on meeting the needs of our students who come from both here in Hyderabad and all over
the world.
We know that one of parents’ top priorities is to provide their children with the best education possible. Often this means a progressive education where students develop 21st century skills while still achieving the academic excellence required to pass their exams. But is it possible to achieve these two ideals in one learning environment?
About
New York Academy A Progressive American School
New York Academy is a progressive American School that intends on instilling in the students the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life. We strive to create leaders who are prepared for the global challenges of the 21st century, lauded for their skills, character and integrity, and driven to make a worthy impact on the world. We not only recognize the importance of academic excellence but also the value of developing essential life skills in childhood that can be carried in adulthood.
Our implementation of intentional learning strategies helps children to remain focused in the classroom and drives them to reach their potential. We recognize that every child learns in different ways, which we acknowledge by creating interesting and varied classroom activities that cater to each learning style. Our expertly trained teachers use different methods to engage children and encourage them to think in new ways to solve problems.
New York Academy inspires each of its children to follow their career path of choice while developing their confidence to help them pursue whatever they want in life. Our classrooms are a forum for self-expression where your child’s interests and talents are nurtured into passions.
Patience, empathy, and respect for others are paramount for success, so our teaching practices also revolve around the importance of these values. We encourage our students’ social and communication skills while enhancing their global consciousness, thereby developing their ability to make a positive impact on the world.
Overall, New York Academy’s passion for teaching and its commitment to excellence, provide a dynamic and secure educational environment where children can realize their potential. By constantly reviewing our teaching practices and striving for improvement, we offer the best education possible for every child in our care, using the most effective teaching methods.

High academic achievement while learning to learn
Education is about more than meeting academic benchmarks at New York Academy. We know that it is also important to teach children how to learn so that they become lifelong learners. We help our students develop the intrinsic motivation to love learning as well as the self-awareness to understand their learning style and how they best learn. We love learning and we impart this attitude on our students.
Social growth with global mindfulness
At New York Academy, students learn how to relate to their peers and teachers and together practice calm, creative and mindful routines. They learn about their rights and responsibilities and how to interact in their own community as well as how to become productive citizens of an increasingly global society. Together we practice living with compassion, empathy and gratitude.
Emotional growth with a sense of security
At New York Academy, we know that students must feel safe and secure in their environment before true learning can take place. We meet both the academic and social/emotional needs of our students to make sure they are learning and growing in a secure and supportive environment.
Respect, honesty and a sense of self discipline
A New York Academy education means more than learning from textbooks. It means that students learn the importance of interpersonal relationships and how to develop important characteristics in themselves including honesty, respect for themselves as well as those around them, and the self discipline to be good learners, friends and global citizens.

My passion to build and shape young minds has led me into this noble profession. My desire to foster and accommodate the individual needs of children has gravitated me toward the Pedagogy of Montessori. I am a strong believer in supporting and nurturing the development of a holistic child; physical, social, emotional, and cognitive.
My experience with teaching is more than 20 years. I have worked in Canada for over a decade and the remaining years of my experience from in India. My love, respect, compassion and patience for children is immense and I am highly enthusiastic and motivated to be a part of children’s journey of life. I have learned and grown from just being around these children; learning is a continuous, consistent and integral part of my life.
Currently in India, at NYA. I am looking forward to bridging the gap between the child, parent and teacher, as we all have to collaborate to work together toward building holistic children; citizens of the future!
