2016 – Founding of New York Academy
New York Academy, A progressive American School was founded with a vision to provide an international standard of education in Hyderabad. The school was established to nurture curiosity, creativity, and academic excellence through a student-centered learning environment.
2017 – Application for Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Accreditation
In pursuit of global educational standards, New York Academy formally applied for accreditation with WASC. This marked the beginning of the school’s commitment to international benchmarks in curriculum, governance, and continuous improvement.
2018 – WASC Candidate School Status
New York Academy was granted WASC Candidate School status, recognizing that the school met the initial requirements toward full accreditation. The process involved comprehensive evaluation, strategic planning, and institutional development aligned with global standards.
2019–2022 – Academic and Institutional Growth
During this period, the school strengthened its academic framework, introduced enriched co-curricular programs, and enhanced student learning experiences. Continuous improvement initiatives were implemented as part of the WASC accreditation journey.
2023 – WASC Accreditation Achieved
New York Academy successfully received full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. This milestone made the school the first and only WASC-accredited school in Hyderabad, affirming its commitment to international educational excellence.
2026 – Upcoming New Campus at Aziz Nagar
New York Academy is developing a state-of-the-art campus at Aziz Nagar, envisioned as one of Asia’s finest educational campuses. The new campus will feature advanced learning spaces, innovative facilities, and a dynamic environment designed for future-ready education.

Accreditations and Affiliations
NYA has established partnerships with notable institutions and industries over the years. We have an enduring to connection to Notre Dame de Namur University, USA for teacher training, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, USA (WASC) and AERO Standards (U.S. State Department’s Office of Overseas Schools) USA, for school accreditation. NYA is currently working with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), The Hague, for curriculum authorization. We maintain our quality assurance through scheduled school visits and inspections, action planning and reporting against rigorous international standards.
Our interest in working with a wide spectrum of industries and businesses will maintain NYA’s commitment to the Change Maker model whereby we are connected to Tech development, out of the box thinking, changing mindsets and emerging employment opportunities. This affords our future NYA graduates with a distinct advantage of being conversant in technology, business, leadership and changing social paradigms.
